I am trying new weightlifting and other fitness apps for tracking my workouts where I want specific data (ie reps, or when surfing, distances on waves). As Traditional Weight training is not strictly an aerobic exercise a purist might argue that estimates of calories burnt are irrelevant. Many apps can be set to read and write fitness data in iphone privacy settings.

Here, despite the app recording a traditional strength training workout, shows time instead of calories, whereas the workout app that comes with the watch shows calories… Yes the Weight Training Apple workout estimates calories whilst Strava for example choses not to.
